If the Lucky Stars 50/50 packages are no longer available, how will this affect my mail order being processed?

As a result of the overwhelming success of the Lucky STARS 50/50 Lottery – tickets are no longer available for that lottery. We appreciate your support and to avoid further disappointment, we have processed your ticket order for the STARS Saskatchewan lottery, as requested. Depending on your payment method the following will occur:

  1. Cheque Payments – cheques will be deposited and a refund for the Lucky STARS 50/50 portion will be returned to you within 4-6 weeks.
  2. Credit Card Payments – your order has been adjusted and only the STARS Lottery Saskatchewan ticket has been processed.

What are the ticket prices for the STARS lottery?
$60 each, 2 for $100, 6 for $250, 12 for $375
How many tickets in total are available to be sold for the STARS lottery?
162,800 tickets are available for the STARS lottery as follows:
  • 15,500 @ $60

484,500 tickets are available for the LUCKY STARS 50/50 lottery as follows:
  • 9,000 @ $10
  • 24,000 @ 5/$25
  • 17,700 @ 15/$50
  • 3,000 @ 30/$75
What methods of payment are accepted?
The following payment methods are accepted: cheque, money order, VISA and MasterCard. No cash or post-dated cheques are accepted.
Is there an age restriction to purchase tickets?
Yes. Ticket purchasers must be 18 years of age or older.
If I am not a resident of Saskatchewan can I still purchase a ticket?
Yes, however the ticket must be sold and purchased within the province of Saskatchewan.
How long does it take to receive my ticket in the mail?
Please allow 2-3 weeks
How long does it take to receive an e-ticket confirmation by e-mail?
Please allow seven days. If you choose e-ticket, you will not receive a printed ticket by mail. If you do not have it by email within seven days, you can email inquiries@starslotterysaskatchewan.ca. Please check your junk folder.
How many names can be put on a ticket?

Up to two names can be placed on a ticket. Should there be more than two purchasers, the purchasers must keep a record of who is involved in the purchase.

In the event of a winning ticket stub having more than one name, the prize will be awarded to only one of the individuals on the ticket. STARS and Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) are not responsible for resolving any disputes which may arise between different individuals whose names appear on the ticket.

Is the ticket tax deductible? Will I get a tax receipt?
No tax receipt is issued, as Canada Revenue Agency deems the purchase of a raffle (lottery) ticket to not be a donation. All lottery winnings are tax free.
Can a ticket be refunded?
Yes. However, if any ticket purchased has been entered in any draw, no refund will be issued after the draw has taken place.
Who is prohibited from purchasing tickets?
Contest rules prohibit the following people from purchasing tickets:
  • Board members and executive management staff of STARS;
  • Employees of Black Fund Development Inc. and Stride Management Corp. ;
  • Immediate family members of those listed above; and
  • Anyone under the age of 18.
Can I order online from outside of Saskatchewan?
No, all online orders must be made from within the province of Saskatchewan. If you experience difficulties ordering online, please call 1-844-782-7775 to place your order.

How many prizes can be won?
1,841 total prizes will be awarded.
What is the total retail value of all the prizes?
The total retail value of all prizes is $4,287,544.26.
What is the Early Bird prize package?
This year’s Early Bird prize package is our largest ever, worth $346,589.61 retail:
  • 2020 Ford F-350 Lariat Super Duty Crew Cab 4X4 diesel pick-up
  • 2020 Jayco Talon 385T Toy Hauler 5th wheel with trailer w/hitch
  • 2020 Polaris RZR XP 1000 off-road vehicle with two helmets
  • 2020 Polaris 800 Switchback Assault 144 snowmobile with two helmets
  • 3-year Good Sam membership
  • $100,000 cash
What are the grand prizes?
There are two grand prizes worth $3.1 million total:
  • 1 fully-furnished 3,089 sq. ft. Regina-area show home worth $1,597,960 retail
  • 1 fully-furnished 3,422 sq. ft. Saskatoon-area show home worth $1,593,600 retail
What are the Loyalty draw prizes?
There are three Loyalty draw prizes worth $82,195 retail:
  • Loyalty Prize 1: $50,000 cash
  • Loyalty Prize 2: Rhine River Cruise – 2 adults for 7 nights OR a $17,000 travel voucher
  • Loyalty Prize 3: Year of Getaways (Las Vegas, Miami, New Orleans, San Francisco) – 4 trips for 2 adults (3-4 nights/each) OR a $12,000 travel voucher
    • Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have extended the usage window on all travel prizes from one to two years. If you elect to claim a travel voucher to redeem toward a different travel package from the vendor, this voucher will have no expiry date.
What are the other 1,835 prizes?
The remaining prizes include three vehicles (or cash alternatives), three vacations (or travel voucher alternatives), 320 cash prizes, 275 luggage prizes, 250 lotto prizes, 100 Cabela’s gift cards and 884 electronics and home appliances.
    • Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have extended the usage window on all travel prizes from one to two years. If you elect to claim a travel voucher to redeem toward a different travel package from the vendor, this voucher will have no expiry date.
What is the LUCKY STARS 50/50 prize?
The cash value of the LUCKY STARS 50/50 prize will be a minimum payout of $360,000 or 50 per cent of ticket sales, whichever is greater, to a maximum of $900,000.
Do I have to purchase a ticket for the STARS Lottery to purchase a ticket for the LUCKY STARS 50/50 Lottery?
Yes, LUCKY STARS 50/50 tickets must be ordered in conjunction with your STARS Lottery Saskatchewan ticket(s). LUCKY STARS 50/50 orders will not be accepted after your original STARS Lottery Saskatchewan ticket purchase.

What are the ticket sales deadlines and draw dates?

If all tickets sell out early, when will the draws be held?
Should all tickets be sold out by 11 p.m., June 25, 2020, sales of the LUCKY STARS 50/50 lottery tickets will be halted, and all prizes will be drawn on July 9, 2020 with SLGA approval.
Where will the draws take place?
All draws (Loyalty, Early Bird, Final and LUCKY STARS 50/50) will be under the supervision of Black Fund Development Inc. and the firm of Stride Management Corp. and will take place at the STARS Regina base: 2640 Airport Rd., Regina, SK. Any person wishing to view the draws may do so by attending at the above location on the draw date(s).
WINNERS
How and when will the winners’ names be available?
A full list will appear on the STARS Lottery Saskatchewan website (www.starslotterysaskatchewan.ca) approximately 10 days after the final draw.
How will winners be notified?
All winners will be notified in writing by Stride Management Corp. – and in some cases a telephone call by STARS’ representatives – about what they have won and how to claim the prize. If a winner cannot be notified after a period of one year from the draw date, the prize or equivalent cash value will be donated to a charitable beneficiary approved by Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority.
Are ticket purchasers eligible for all prizes?
Ticket purchasers are eligible for all 1,841 prizes provided they purchased before the applicable ticket sales deadlines. Once a winning ticket number has been drawn, it is recorded and included in all subsequent draws.
How are the draws conducted?
The lottery draws will be conducted using an RNG (Random Number Generation) system. The winning draw numbers shall be determined from the pool of sold lottery ticket numbers.
Do prizes have to be accepted “as is”?
Prizes must be accepted as awarded, with no substitutes, unless otherwise stated. All winners have one year from the date of the draw to claim their prize(s), with the following exceptions/restrictions:
  • All grand prize home winners must claim their prize by the advertised possession date.
  • Vehicle winners have seven days from the draw date to choose the cash option or 45 days from the draw date to claim the vehicle.
  • All travel prizes are valid for two years from draw date. Extensions will be granted upon request, and blackout dates may apply. In the event that winners of travel prizes do not wish to travel to the destination they won, they will have an option to take a travel voucher as advertised.
    • Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, we have extended the usage window on all travel prizes from one to two years. If you elect to claim a travel voucher to redeem toward a different travel package from the vendor, this voucher will have no expiry date.
Lottery prizes are tax free, and winners are not obligated to live in the show home. Any costs associated with the delivery of a prize due to distance or unique circumstances will be covered by STARS.

LOTTERY MANAGEMENT
Who is the project manager?
The STARS lottery is managed by Dean Faithfull, President, Black Fund Development Inc.
Who provides operational support for the Lottery?
Stride Management Corp., 3950 – 12th Street NE, Calgary AB T2E 8H9 is responsible for the processing of all ticket requests, issuing and mailing of tickets to ticket purchasers, maintaining the website, supervising the draws and notifying all winners in writing. They also manage the call centre at the address above.

How many years has the STARS Lottery Saskatchewan been operating?
2020 marks the ninth lottery STARS has held in Saskatchewan.
How will the proceeds from the STARS Lottery be used?
The net proceeds from the 2020 STARS Lottery Saskatchewan will help cover direct costs of providing air ambulance services from our two STARS bases in Regina and Saskatoon.
